For the 150th anniversary of Edvard Munch’s birth the Vestfold Festival commissioned from me an outdoor theatre work.

This was to be played at Munch's House in the lovely fjord village of Åsgårdstrand, and through the streets to various other places associated with him.

In Munch’s own words we follow him through a summer that changed his life – and through the coastal village whose atmospheric bays and forests he loved more than anywhere else. From his passionate love life in his house by the shore to a fist-fight outside the Town Hall and pistols shots across the table!

Among countless productions during the Munch anniversary year, this was no doubt the only one to keep its audience laughing! The only one to find the bubbling self-irony and humour in Munch’s writings!
